ICCP uses the data from your IMAGE evaluation to produce a computerized analysis of compatibility in seven broad areas of the workforce:

Your interests, skills, training and experience are not taken into account in this evaluation. So it is important to realize that this evaluation only reveals career areas compatible with your motivational makeup. It does not suggest that you are trained or prepared to enter any of these careers at this time. It also does not suggest that an indication of high motivational compatibility translates into a high degree of personal interest by you in that career.

As with any evaluation, the ICCP has limitations and should be used as one component of the career evaluation process, not as an absolute assessment of that person. Additionally, the results of the ICCP can benefit you more fully when they are examined and discussed with a trained professional counselor.

ICCP analyzes 183 occupations within the seven professional categories mentioned above in relationship to your answers and motivational profile from the IMAGE questionnaire. In each category the occupations are graphically displayed from those with the strongest compatibility to those with the weakest compatibility. To the right of each occupation, an asterisk (*) positions your compatibility score on the scale, and a dashed line (-----) represents the range of scores of the middle 70 percent of males/females. In other words, 15 percent of males/females scored higher than the range depicted by the dashed line and 15 percent scored lower. The example below will help you understand how the graphs work.

          <--WEAK COMPATIBILITY--|--MID-RANGE COMPATIBILITY--|--STRONG COMPATIBILITY-->

example 1                        |        -----------------------------  *
example 2                        |                 ----------------------*-----
example 3                        |  --------------------     *
example 4                        |   -------------------*--
example 5                  *   --|----------------------

In "example 1" the personal score (*) indicates a STRONG level of motivational compatibility to the occupation. This means that this occupation is strongly compatible with this person's motivational makeup. In addition, the personal score (*) is above the dashed line (-----) which indicates that this person's motivational compatibility is above at least 85 percent of all other males/females. This means that this person will be more strongly motivated by his/her motivational makeup than most people in this occupation, and in this respect will have a competitive edge.

In "example 2" the personal score (*) is at the same level it was in "example 1", so this occupation is also strongly compatible with this person's motivational makeup. However, this time the dashed line (-----) extends above the personal score (*), indicating that this person's compatibility is more typical of males/females. So this person will not have a motivational edge over others even though his/her score is high.

In "example 3" the personal score (*) is a little lower than the first two which means that this occupation is slightly less compatible with this person's motivational makeup. However, the personal score (*) is well to the right of the dashed line (-----), indicating that in relationship to other males/females, this person has a higher motivation for this occupation and would have a competitive edge in this respect.

In "example 4" the personal score is still STRONG and is near the right end of the dashed line (-----). This indicates that this person would find this occupation to be strongly compatible with his motivational makeup, and would have a level of motivation for this occupation which is somewhat higher than that of most males/females.

Finally, in "example 5" the personal score (*) is WEAK and in addition is much lower than the dashed line (-----). This indicates that his occupation is very unlikely to keep the person motivated and would most likely prove to be unsatisfying. This person would also be at a significant competitive disadvantage with respect to most other males/females in terms of motivation.
